I agree he does make nice stuff but for him to be able to sell on the forum he needs to be a vendor, regardless of is hes the only one who makes em or not

Its not the issue that he's the only one who sells this stuff. It's about whether he is a forum vendor or not. If he says he's tried to contact some moderators and didn't get an answer back, then you have to believe him. He hasn't done anything to make us believe otherwise. What is he supposed to do? Just sit around and lose business while a moderator gets to his case? I wouldn't wait around either

guys - this is not being done to single out anyone - trust me, I am just following the forum guidelines where promoting goods and services via non forum vendors is concerned. It is my responsibility as a volunteer moderator to try to ensure everyone plays by the rules - it's not personal - I'm sure he makes an excellent product.

I certainly don't know what has happened prior to this regarding him trying to get vendor status, but I gave him the contact information and let SAVEWAVE (our vendor admin) know the situation at hand. I'm sure this can be resolved amicably and things will go on without a problem.

Exactly the issue

Your first sentence is 100% correct and for clarification, he has received a reply from Administrator "savewave."

"savewave," sent him the thread that explains our vendor program, and its associated costs. He even went as far as recommending that he promote his limited production item elsewhere since it would not be financially advantageous to pay the fee's to do so on the forum.

With that said, I believe some members need to review these forum rules for future compliance, since it was clearly abandoned in this thread:
[B]Commercial posting
------------------------------------------------------------------
Supporting vendors pay for the considerable bandwidth charges on the Forum, making it free for the rest of us. In exchange, they get the privilege of using the Forum to market and promote their goods and services.

Forum members are welcome to sell a Corvette or Corvette parts they purchased for their own personal use. Anything else is considered to be a commercial sale.

No links or reference to eBay sales, please. If the sale is appropriate for the Forum, post it on the Forum, rather than linking to it elsewhere.

Members are not prohibited from mentioning it when they have a good (or bad, for that matter) experience with a non-supporting vendor. But such mentions cannot be so specific (address, phone number, e-mail address, URL, price, part number, etc.) and so frequent that they become marketing and promotional references.

Only supporting vendors can post Group Purchase threads.

Members can include a mention of their personal businesses in their signatures so long as the enterprise does not compete with an existing supporting vendor, is not Corvette-related and is not so detailed or so frequently appended to their posts that it becomes inappropriate marketing and promotion.
Complaints & Suggestions
-----------------------------------------------------------------
If you have suggestions for the improvement of the Forum or questions or criticism of the Forum or its moderation, you are welcome to PM or e-mail a moderator. Please do not use an open thread for such messages, however.

The work on the Forum's volunteer moderators is difficult enough without having folks calling them out in open threads.
Free Speech/censorship
------------------------------------------------------------------
God bless America, where we enjoy constitutionally protected rights. Free speech, although not absolute, is one of those rights.

Being a member at Corvetteforum.com is not, however, a constitutionally protected right. The Forum is a private enterprise and its owner has the right to establish rules of behavior for participants.

Participants who agree to follow Forum rules and then don’t will sometimes find that their inappropriate posts have been deleted. They should not reopen a topic after a moderator has closed a thread on the topic. A pattern of such defiance of the Forum’s rules/guidelines will jeopardize a member’s posting privileges.
This member may produce a great product, but, if he is not willing to pay vendor fee's, he will not promote his goods here, while others pay to do so

Also, this forum does not take it likely when members call out Moderators in an open thread, and appropriate action is always taken.

This thread is closed, and no other threads should be created to debate it. If anyone wants to discuss it further, feel free to PM me.
