I installed a Clifford 12.5X alarm and a Clifford 210c GPS unit to serve as a backup to the stock theft deterrent system on a 2007 C6. This redundant system(s) works great and I can get alerts on my cell phone and track the vehicle, etc.
My question is: In reading in the GM service manual wiring diagrams I see security components (intrusion sensor - mounted to windshield garnish, and a alarm in the rear compartment) labeled APO UA2 only. Since my car does not have an alarm or a intrusion sensor I can only assume this is a European spec or a option NOT installed in my car.
Does anyone know what the designation APO UA2 represents?

This is total conjecture on my part, but based on the locations that may very well be part of the FOB detection system. Makes a certain sense since you have a prox up front to allow the car to start, and one out back to allow the push-button above the license plate to function.
The Key FOB's have two antenna's which can be located via the component diagrams in the GM books. What's got me interested in the APO UA2 specs is that the GM books shows a second alarm (other than the horn) and other components like an intrusion sensor defeat switch in the glove box which I do not have. I tore apart the area showing where the extra siren might be an it's not there. Since I have EVERY option available on a vette I'm guessing this much be a European spec of some sort.
BTW - the alarm install with the GPS only took 6 hours and saved me 500.00 which I like! And I soldered all the connections and wire wraped everything to look like it all come from the factory.
