Sam, a while agto you responded to my post about connectors to make my sub box removeable. I want ADD CONNECTORS SO i CAN TAKE OUT THE BOX AND RACE. wHAT THE BEST????
You can use high current plugs available from SoundDomain, which aren't too costly and provide the easiest to install option, as well as being convenient to use and pretty safe from grounding. The downside is that they're only good to about 10 ga equivalent-probably more than you need. Unplug to remove.
Or you can use a solid metal binding post or a bolt through the speaker box, and crimp a ring terminal on the end of each line from the amp. Simply bolt the ring terminal onto the post so you get contact through the box. Downside is it is a little more work, and you need to have some cover to prevent the bare ring terminal from shorting out. Upside is it'll provide the most current transfer. You probably don't need anywhere near the heavy-duty abilities of this setup.
Make sure to solder and heat shrink ALL components. Especially with you removing items, design the box to recess handles and attachment terminals so they don't get damaged when out of the car, as well as easy to move around. Protect the loose wire ends on either side also, from damage or shorting.
