OK guys. Got myself a new toy and need some help installing this thing. Figured I'd ask before I started. I have a parrot 3200 ls-color. Here is what I'm running as far as stereo. Eclipse HU(CD5000 specifically), 4ch amp with 4ch rca's going to it, and 2ways up front and subs off the 4ch amp. The directions on the web are very confusing to me. Any help would be great. Thanks
basically you have to run the signal out from the parrot to teh speaker wires coming out of the amp then you either wire the mute wire from the parrot to the the mute wire on teh back of your radio, its there wrapped up in a ton of tape most likely or you get a relay and wire the mute to the remote turn on for your amp so it shuts the amp off
Eclipse has partnered up with Parrot to add Bluetooth on their newer models. You might want to investigate the possibility of a harness/adapter that would work with the previous models of the Eclipse as well.
Check out http://www.parrotkits.com for some ready made harnesses... ordering from there for the wife's DD...
Thanks for the site. Since I am running an aftermarket stereo setup, I can't use any adapters. Greg has helped me out on that.
My new issue is that I am getting a lot of static through the speakers when a call is made. Or any kind of sound. I have to still play with all the settings and what not. But it looks like a cool unit and very easy to use. Just have to figure out this noise issue. I will do more trouble shooting tonight.
now my parrot barely works. I am getting a faint sound from the speakers even with the volume on its highest setting. I'll be calling their support tomorrow and see whats going on.
not really. I received a new blue box from parrot and I had to run it to speakers separate from my stereo. There is a $150 adpater to make it work for an aftermatket stereo but i dont feel the need to spend that when I can just reuse my old rear speakers.
Yeah, that is why I wondered if that adapter I linked to above would work for you. It is only 39.95 and is made for custom / DIY installations (i.e. non-stock).
So the voice comes in behind your head then? does that sound wierd at all?
yea that adapter is just for not cutting up the harness. Im not afraid of cutting wires I just have to run new speaker wire for thee rears because i forgot that the HU is plugged into the harness, so when the parrot comes on, i hear music. The amp and the front speakers turn off, but then the rears play music. haha. oh well. Just have to run new wire. No biggie. I'll let you know how that works out.
I was just reading the bluetooth instructions for parrot and it says with bose systems you must splice in with resistors to the speakers since bose uses like 2 ohm speakers. I read an install thread on here and nothing was mentioned about that?
