I own a '79 C3 Corvette and am looking to put most likely (1) 12" Alpine R-series subwoofer behind the seats along with an Alpine MRP-M850 amplifier. I saw a topic for a C4 where the guy made the sub box actually fit in one of the storage box's behind the seats. I thought that was awesome (am thinking of doing something along those lines...maybe) I would like to keep my rear storage space as functional as possible, so I can still put the T-tops back there if I want. If anyone has any input or any advice...I'd love to hear it!!
I was wondering if anyone here has put any sub's in their C3 vettes and if so pictures would be awesome!!!
Just trying to see if its possible...and what others have done. I see so much on the C4, C5, C6...but NO C3 stuff.

C3 stereo topics have mostly been done in C3. Yes, some have put subs there. The center works great for an amp. Note that 68-77 have 3 "doors" there instead of the 2 in 78-82.
Front- There are places in the kick panels to mount speakers which is a better location than the dash. A mounting plate must be used to separate the front from back sound waves to prevent cancellation for better bass. There is not enough airspace behind to optimize 6.5s which should go into doors.
Some 5.25 can be fitted to kick panel location. If the tweeters are separate or adjustable, tilt up & back towards the center.
