Parasitic drain
I gotta a weird one here. Not to long ago I installed a system on my car. I was getting a ground-loop noise made a post on here but none of the suggestions fixed that (ran a better ground from HU to seat bolt where amp is grounded). Thats one issue i'll have to fix.
Now i found out the constant 12v (yellow) on the wiring harness that my HU is connected to, is draining my battery. I put a meter in series with the battery and i was getting over 1amp draw while in sleep mode. Cut the 12v constant and it drops down to .02mA.
Should i run another C-12v from another location?? Where is another C-12v circuit?? Right now i have it wired it up on a SW-12v i just don't have any memory. I can live with that for awhile.
What does it mean that the C-12v is draining my battery?

theres nothing really on the HU to program. I have a satellite cable connected to it. rca's and the radio antenna cable. THe only wires i was using off the OEM harness was the red (sw12v) yellow (c12v) and the blu for the power antenna.
It only draws an amp in sleep mode when i have it connected to the yellow. Maybe theres a short in the HU itself, i don't know.

good news!
