Default MP3 player

I'm thinking about adding a portable MP3 player to my car. I will go with the Panasonic SV-SD75. http://www.prodcat.panasonic.com/sho...odelNo=SV-SD75

How do I tap this into my stock stereo system?

As an added note, another unit (model SF100) is avialable without telescoping antenna so you can hide under your dash. Check out: http://www.bestbuy.com/detail.asp?e=...t=800&scat=875

Lets's not talk about names Bubblehead.

Good luck with install.

Just messing with ya since you didn't have your real name in your sig. I like going by real names.

Thanks for the additional link, this helps out greatly!

ProDesign - I went with your suggestion on the wireless unit from BestBuy. Although a quick solution, I am not impressed with the audio quality. For $20 you get what you pay for...a $20 solution. However, I won't be a total naysayer as I use the device with my clock radio at work (just because I don't want to wear headphones with the MP3 player). A couple of others at work are "tuning-in" too, but as a high-end audio solution, I am not sold.

I think I will continue looking into tapping the line inputs from the original CD changer (drop the changer all together). Thanks for the suggestion...

Bubblehead- I went with the Creative Nomad 20GB Jukebox that holds 340 hours of MP3s at a 128 bitrate (a little low for bitrate in my opinion). I've converted about 3/4 of my CD collection (almost 250 discs), and its pretty cool to hit the shuffle button and not really know what the next song is going to be. In my conversion process, I selected only my favorite songs from each CD. You can also create playlists with various genres of your favorite music.

For more info go to [url=http://www.nomadworld.com/]
Price: $399 !

The other option is if you have a tape deck, you can plug the headphones into the tape deck with an adapter you can get at any RadioShack. The problem with either of these setups is that the best it will sound is as good as your radio or tape deck. Ever heard a song on the radio and then on CD in your car? You'll notice that the cd sounds much better. This is because the FM is not designed to cover the full range of frequencies like the CD and it cuts off deep bass and really high highs. Same with the tape though this is not as bad and it really depends what condition the tape head is in. The more it is used, the worse it gets as it wears out. If this is no problem, either is a viable solution. If you want the music to sound perfect however, get a Head unit that is MP3 capable instead.
