? about C6 upgrades
1) If I keep the stock (non nav) head unit what adapters am I going to need to keep the chimes and the OnStar?
2) Is there a Aux jack in the back so I can run my iPod from. Right now I have it run thru the Sirrius module. This is not good, as the Neucleus system is causing some problems.
3) If I change the head unit again what adapters will I need to keep the chimes and OnStar?
I'm not going to be the one that installs it, however I would like your ideas, and knowledge. I've been reading this section of the forum and I sometime think I'm reading greek. Thing have really change from my days of installing 45 record players ( yes I said 45 record player), Lear or Muntz 8 tracks and the every popular reverbs. Actually I liked the reverb.
I have already picked out the speakers and amp.
Again have at it and I want to thank you all in advance for your wisdom. Damn I wish some of you lived closer to me.

There's no AUX input on the stock heads. The way you're going with the Nucleus is about the only current available option, though I'm no iPod expert.
The Peripheral modules seem to work the best in our cars. Their application guide only shows 2005 Vettes but they are the same through 2007 no matter what you read or are told(there's a TON of misinformation on this in the forum). I've worked on '06 and '07 using the '05 stuff and they are IDENTICAL. Here's a link to the application guide:

If you keep the stock head you don't need to worry about chimes or OnStar, that stuff is generated within the stock head. To add an amp to the stock head it looks like you'd need to use the SVEN2/SVEN4 adapter.
To add a head since you have OnStar you'd need to use the GMAH24B if you have Bose or if you don't have Bose you'd need both the GMAH24A and the GMAHCM.
The JL Audio cleansweep is a nerdy little box that auto-corrects the equalization of the factory source and pumps up the signal voltage to defeat noise on its way to the amp. They provide aux inputs (RCA) on the box and a remote\master volume switch so you can toggle between the factory deck and your mp3 player\aux source.
I have this JL unit in my 2006 and it works as advertised, but............
If I had it all to do over again, I would look at the AudioControl unit. It has the same basic concept as the JL but the eq is manually adjustable. I ended up eq'ing with a seperate component so I love the simplicity of doing it once. I also like the fact that I can see what Im doing to the factory signal. You still get the remote\master volume switch for your aux source
Being to able to level match my mp3 player with my factory deck and then master control all of it was worth the price of admission for me on the Cleansweep.
It helped that I got an open box one so I saved a ton off retail. The P.I.E. X3 I needed for my Grand Cherokee was almost as much as the Cleansweep. Its completely source dependant for the level and its importing a small (really small) amount of alt whine (yes, its star grounded) into the signal. The Corvette with the Cleansweep has zero noise, so I give high marks to the cleansweep, even if its just a fancy aux input
And....Like I said, Id look at the Audiocontrol.
