What a great forum this is!! Read it everyday and now I've got a question.
My 86's stock bose radio is crapping out and i'm looking for a (stock) replacement. I called dr Dons to ask how much it would be to fix my old one. Then he pointed out that he offered an upgrade to the 86 radio which includes a CD player instead of cassette and newer digital electronics. He mentioned that is was for sale through Mid America for a few years but he couldn't keep up with the sales, so that ended. He is now only offering it through his own company. It has an almost stock look and you can view it on the Dr Don website. It's the top right radio in the cluster of radio's on the main page. Do any any of you guys have this radio and like it? And most important of all, do you happen to have a picture of it installed?
I can't help with pictures of this radio installed or anything, as I have a '96, but I *will* say that Dr. Don's is *THE* only place to go for factory radio repairs/upgrades. You're on the right track...
And it loos perfect! The cassete door was busted, the CD didnt work, and the face plate was scratched. I am not sure of all the work that was done, but it was worth every penny and the price was $130 plus shipping. I thought the radio was toast and already had a backup one ready to go. (anyone need a cassette plaer from a 1994?)
Again I don't have that radio but will chime in with those who rave about Dr. Don. He overhauled my 93 CD/Cassette and updated the electronics and later on did my front amplifiers, all work first rate.
That's exactly the radio I mean.... look neat indeed. How's the night lighting does that also has the same color and intensity as the rest of the Dash? How bout the sound?
Raymond, As you can see the clock display is blue. If you are buying from DrDon just ask him for the color you want. Call him, really nice guy. All other script lighting is correct. The sound is very good, this one was converted to digital. Overall I am extremely pleased with radio,CD and all funtions and I have been called a tight a** about things

for about the 3rd time now, NO he isn't the only game in town. one other ebayer trumps him by $30 and *i* can tell you he does a slam-dunk job.
type in the words "Corvette Factory Radio Repair Service" and youll find him. Same Day Audio Repair, in VA.
Rich at Same Day Auto Audio Repair Services did my radio and all four speakers two years ago. Super fast and outstanding customer service!
I recently had a problem with one of the speakers and sent it to him. Since it was past his one year waranty, I fully expected to pay for the repair. He fixed it and shipped it back the same day ... no charge!
