Hi. I am getting ready to put 4 10 inch subs in my '88. My ideas for the box so far, are to just buy another box made for two 10's, and wire it together with the one I have already, or to build one that would be aprox. the same size as the two put together. That would be almost a perfect fit on the back deck. I am interested in somehow incorporating fiberglass so that it will match the car. How can I do this? Would I just attach it to the outside of the box or what? Thanks for any input.
Why? Are you planning to do shows? You really don't need more than two 10s or one 12. If you feel you do, you are probably using the wrong equipment. (Kicker, Pioneer, MTX or Rockford Fosgate for example) A single good quality 12 will sound better than four 10s if it is boxed and powered correctly. I was able to crack a rear window of an IROC body style camaro with a pair of 10s wired properly (to properly). Luckily this was covered by the shops insurance and the guy didn't mind considering the system he was getting. Four 10s will just fill up your trunk also. I would get a pair of good 10s and power the heck out of them, say, 2000w, and see what you get. You will need to stand 10 feet away to listen to it.

Just out of curiosity, what do you have against Kicker? I've got an S10L7 (square solobaric) in a sealed enclosure sized at (very near) .707 Qtc powered by a Kicker ZR120 and it sounds great. I'm not arguing, I don't really know that much about car audio, but I'd like to hear your opinion at least to know if I'm a moron for buying crap, if not to make better decisions in the future.
hey blue, check out my post to see what I did w/ my system. If you sat in my car, you would have to wear ear plugs (the sound hurts my ears). You will really enjoy a setup like this. There is no need for 4 10s unless you are trying to do dB dragracing or outlaw SPL.
I have to agree- how could you possibly use 4 10's in a Corvette??? I have a single JL Audio 10w0 running off 100W amp in both my vette and full-size van. It provides plenty of deep, clean bass for everything from techno to Metallica to classical. Also easily capable of hearing damage with prolonged exposure...
