What are my options for this? Anything allow the ipod to be controlled via the NAV screen?
I am a newbie to audio stuff, just want a good way to be able o play my ipod through my stock HU.
Thanks, Shawn
The Neucleus NC-X2i reportedly works with our stereos. However they have definitely had software issues that have lead to battery drain, system lockups, etc. You might want to do a search in C6 General for topics on it. Unfortunately most folks don't seem to realize this section exists and alot of that stuff gets missed by the mods and left in General due to the sheer volume of posts there.
I just became one with the collective myself and bought an 80GB to hook into the new head in my daily driver Avalanche. I'm doing a road trip later this summer in the C6 and no doubt I'll want the iPod available so I'll be researching this a bit myself. I may very well scrap the factory head though, not sure yet.

I found an adapter that does not disable any in-dash CD changers, XM Radio, OnStar, or Navigation systems!! It is the USAspec PA11-VET , this isnt new information though...

I had one, and it worked OK in terms of iPod control and playback, but it did cause the battery to drain in 36-48 hours. GM has a service bulletin out on it that says that some aftermarket adapters that use the XM input (which the Neucleus does) can keep the audio system awake and drawing power even with the car properly turned off.
I had to remove it due to the battery drain and am still looking for a safe answer.
If your car is XM and you do not use it, you can tap into the XM line with your audio for a mere 5 dollars but it is slighly quieter then the audio from the xm

If it's quieter than XM then that route may not be the way to go. The XM gain in the C6 is already SIGNIFICANTLY lower than the rest of the system and if you drop that down another db or 2 you'll be working the system really hard, not to mention risking your speakers when you forget to turn the volume down before switching to CD.
I called them just now and they said if you have a C6 with NAV and XM, you can use the "2005-up CHEVY CORVETTE SPEC.DOCK PACKAGE WITH COMPLETE INTERFACE" ($299).
This comes with the hardware to add an AUX input and then run the iPod to this input. Apparently it also has an extra AUX input in case you want to add something else at some point. It works with most iPods, including my older 15gb iPod (The USA SPEC doesn't work with that one).
It has two modes, one that allows control via the touch screen, but it's limited to 5 playlists while the other mode allows for complete control via the iPod itself. I'd probably prefer this anyways since it's always easier to control the iPod and how I did it on my previous C6 w/o Nav.
It will power the iPod and they said there aren't any issues with the setup draining the battery so we shouldn't have to worry about that.
It does seem to cost a bit more than the other solutions out there, but from what it seems, it works without screwing anything up or causing any battery issues. I noticed another poster in this thread got this unit, so hopefully he will post a follow up after he installs it...
hey guys i have a question, i have an 05 c6 with nav but no navigation, i was looking at the Neucleus NC-X2i and on the website for hooking it up, it says that i have to hook into wires behind the dech on the harness, do you think i would still have the battery going dead issue? thanks for the help
