Ok today ride was a mint 1984 Cadillac Coupe Deville, a buddy from college just picked this baby up and it was in much need of some upgrades. The 2 pole am/fm radio was ripped out for a pioneer cd player with ipod setup. The car came stock with 4x6's in the dash which needless to say wasnt gonna do us much good so those got unhooked and the sawsall came out. We did some cutting of metal in the doors and fit polk db 6.5 shallow mount speakers in. In the rears we opted for 6.5s as well for a slightly cleaner sound, we mounted these on the rear deck so some more sound would get through, and well it looks pretty sweet. We stashed a pioneer 2 channel amp under the passenger seat for the front speakers, 60x2 rms. Origionally, we were gonna put the amp in the trunk but the car is just so big we figured why waste the wire. Eventually a sub or 2 will make there way into the trunk. The stereo sounded awesome when we finished, this is my buddies 4th car this year and this is by far the nicest sounding stereo he has ever had he said. I gotta say they dont quite make cars like this anymore and this baby is a total boat and a half. Questions, comments...
Door in stock form
A few choice words later, we have speakers in the doors
Some 6.5s in the rear deck
No more am/fm, this baby almost looks like it belongs in the opening, minimal cutting was involved
