c6 vert 08-recommended sub box alternatives
Ok,
I did a search first and didn't find my answer for convertibles although there's a great article about the stealthbox install.
I'm replacing my C5 '04 vert w/ an 08 vert. I'll leave the Nav head in and replace amps and speakers.
In the c5 I ran alpine head unit, JL audio 500/1 for sub and 450/4 to power front speakers only and extra stage tweets up on dash.
All speakers were CDT Euro's and a CDT HD 12" sub in box in trunk. The C5's had an open space for tire that was wonderful for sub box.
I intend to use the CDT Euros in front door panels.
Question is about sub box. I don't care about "LOUD". I like a good SQ fill to rock, tecno, never classical.
I've seen and can buy the JL audio "stealth box"w/ two 8" subs. JL audio said they were ok with running the 500/1 into it even though the subs may not be rated that high since I don't blast it.
Are there any other choices out there for a subbox that might work in the convertible. The one JL audio (in trunk) that would let me use a 10" is listed for coupes only. Not married to JL so any suggestions appreciated.
Or is the JL stealthbox a good choice and I should stop trying to reinvent the wheel??
