I'm running the sister unit: CDA 7998. The only difference is in the display and the fact that yours has an internal amp.

The sound quality from both head units is phenominal. Just make sure to go to Alpine's website and download al the technical information before installing it. I thought mine was busted until i realized there was a special switch on the side to activate the AI-net external EQ feature.

I used a slightly protruding head unit mount because of the additional Sound processor under it. If you're going to mount it by itself in the standard spot you should be able to use the regular flush mount kit.

here's a pic of mine installed...with a few other toys:

ERA G320's are almost always on Ebay and usually go for between 200-300 depending on condition.

Every one in a while you luck out and get somthing i did: I found one labeled ERA G3200 and listed in a strange catagory. Ended up paying $160 shipped and got the extension cable for the Display.

For those of you daring enough. There is a Japanese version called the ERA G311. It's rare in the states but it's a self contained 1 DIN unit with no external brain. Has all the same features as it's american counterpart but is much easier to install espeically if you're planning a double DIN setup.
