Default Install question

I have a question. I am installing a new sytsem, consisting of an Eclipse CD 5000 Hu, an AlpinePDX 4.150 amp, ED 6002 components, a 13 KV2 sub and the eclipse Ipod adapter. The system s going into a 2001 ZO6. When i tried to hook up the Ipod adapter the cable that goes into the head unit sticks out too far in the back and the Hu will not go into the dash all the way. I looked behind the head unit and there is a black plastic panel. Would it be okay to cut a hole in the panel or does anyone else have a suggestion as to how to get this installed. I have read the forum and there is a wealth of valuable info here. I am wondering how the pro's here did it if anyone did. Thanks in advance for the help.

Greg

pentavolvo,

Thanks for telling me that. I was thinking that was the right answer, but I wanted to make sure there was nothing important behind it. Now I can go finish my install.

Thanks again,
Greg
