I am going to remove my Bose system and install a new receiver and speakers. I have a 93, my receiver is in the storage bin behind the passengers seat, can anyone tell me where the wire that comtrols the power antenae is located? Also, I have been reading alot of the threads about installing a new receiver but if anyone has any experiences that they would like to relay, it would be appreciated.
In the C4 Audio FAQ, there is a link to the wiring diagrams. That will give you the antenna, power and ground leaks.
As for where, they are on the harnesses attached to the reciever. You will have to make a small harness from the storage bin up to the head unit.
The best bet is to take three wires, about 6' long each, put one end in a vice, and the other into a power drill, and spin'm up! That will make a nice twisted set. Tape each end, and trim/adjust to fit.
I suggest using 14 gauge wire from NAPA for this harness.
there are four connectors that plug into the receiver, one of the connectors only has four wires in it. The colors are yellow, orange, pink and black. From the wire diagrams in "C4 FAQ" none of them match my connectors. But, from the color schemes on those diagrams, yellow is a power, orange is the ignition power, pink is the power antenea and black is the ground. I am going to put a volt meter on them and see if my assumptions are correct.
