C5 Avic-D3 FM Reception Problem. Help!

C5 Avic-D3 FM Reception Problem. Help!
Although I don't use it much, the FM reception from my new Avic D3 is really weak; lots of static where the stock Bose was crisp and clear. What gives? Pioneer phone support said the antenna amp is off or something. Can someone help me figure this out?

i know this sounds stupid too, but unplug everything and reconnect it all. I've had instances where the connection seems snug or good, but then I'll just redo it and then it works. Worth a shot.
If that still doesn't work, make a call to pioneer and explain to them that the vert doesn't have an amp for the antenna and see what they suggest after that. Do you get static/ bad reception with the car on or off, or doesn't matter?

I guess I'll break it all down and try the unplug and replug idea. Ugh!

Same problem here with an Alpine stereo. Connection is fine, I already tried that approach. The stock stereo got much better reception. Maybe the power antenna's just suck for reception with after market stereo's.

one thing that I have noticed when doing installs, is that radios, or other devices that use antenna adatpers pick up noise. My solution, make sure to route the antenna wire away from the power harnes, and use good electrical tape and tape off all connection points.
