I'm thinking of doing the DD mod on my C5. I've looked at the Pioneer D3 but don't like the idea of 1 slot and having to change disks. THe D2 has 2 slots but what do I give up. I've got a ton of money in go fast stuff in the car and really don't want to break the bank on this project. It's a convertible so fidelity is not gong to be particularly good going down the road. Speaker suggestions? Amps? I don't really want to put a sub enclosure in the back - that's for golf clubs.
I would suggest Kenwood
I have the Kenwood DDX 6019 with the KNA G510 NAV
The nav is Garmin based and after the road trip I took yesterday, you will love the nav! The dvd option is nice as well, wife watched a movie on the way back
Here is a couple pics for you.

Great looking install but the Kenwood NAV unit is an $800 add on.
Also look at the Kenwood 7100 - it's got DVD and NAV combined into one unit so you don't need the separate Garmin box. One of the reasons I decided on this unit is the ability to play CD's and run NAV at the same time. I'm about to pull the trigger on one and add Sirrius and Bluetooth. I've been researching it heavily the past week or so on the Forum - there's a ton of helpful info in this section and the FAQ sticky, in addition to a recent thread devoted to the Kenwood 7100.
Take a quick read through the c5 FAQ at the top of the audio page, and do a search on double din mod. There is some recent new info with some pics on what is involved. Let us know if your having trouble finding the threads on the double din.
BearsFan,
Do you have any close up pics of the headunit install. It looks great.
Was the console modified to accept?
Thanks
Jim
