Probably been asked a million times...but I was curious what you guys recommend for a sub in my C5 convertible. I have a 12" eclipse ready to go for the rear center compartment and wondered if anyone with a vert has put one in. Worried if you can even hear the sub with the top down or do I need to think elsewhere?
you shouldnt have a problem hearing the 12" in your vert
really? cool...should i sound deadn the trunk too? Worried about the rattle...I am not a huge bass head but if I have the top down going down the highway the music is up fairly loud...

Matter of principle... deaden where you can. Things WILL rattle when you feed a big driver big power.
I put a 12" in my vert. I have no problems with hearing/feeling it with the top down. I am not into huge bass, so I have it turned down quite a bit. Ratttles are an issue if I turn it up. I ran out of time and didnt get to put sound deadener in the trunk area, but hopefully it will help.
The JL Audio W7 I installed in mine works great. There are rattles. Some I am sure I could take care of, but some, especially in the rear of the car, that I don't think you can fix. No biggie to me, I just turn the radio up higher.
you can also go with liquid deadner as well. It doesnt weigh as much as the mat stuff and its easy to apply. Only down side is that it needs drying time.
thanks! that's exactly what I am planning on using.
Elemental Designs eDead v3 Liquid BLACK Sound Deadening
heard great stuff from other people that have used it.
Thats what ive got in mine. Just make sure to use some fans, it will cut down on the drying time. and you get the smell for about a week. But the edead doesn't smell bad, just different. If you want to cut down on road noise as well. Make sure to use v4, the foam layer.
Thanks for the tip! So how many gallons do you think I would need if I plan on doing 3 to 4 layers? And how much foam would you recommend to buy? Thank you again for the help...
