Speaker recommendations for C6
First let me say that yes, I have used the search and checked the FAQ's before starting this thread. But failed to find the answers I'm looking for.
I have a new HU coming (Eclipse AVN5510) from a forum member and was going to use the stock Bose speakers. But after thinking about it I want to swap out the Blose for something that sounds better.
Here's the deal...I know nothing about car audio. Although, I know enough to know that the stock system sux.
What I'm looking for are speakers that won't require much fabrication to install (I can fab. but I'm lazy). Ideally, they would be a direct swap but that's not a deal breaker.
I plan on doing only the doors. I probably won't even hook up the rears.
I don't want a sub or amp. (yet) and would like to stay in the 2 - 3 hundred dollar range.
I'm not too much of an audiophile but I'm still looking for quality sound.
So what are my options?
If it helps it is a '07 coupe w/ non-bose head coming out.
All suggestions (even expensive ones) would be appreciated.

just change the speakers (see post below).... and use the stock amp (it is actually not bad)
that HU will be OK - make sure you buy the interface modules that mate it to the car...
you'll love the new sound!!!!!!

You can get speaker plates and electrical adapters from Corvettecaraudio.com. The will help with the fab issues.
My personal opinion is that if you are going without high power amps you should stay with coaxial type speakers. They do a great job with lower power head units.
