I need to gut the interior of my new(er) C4 and clean it. i figured this would be a good time to install that kit.
I don't plan on deadener at the moment as my 89 only has it in the hatch area. from reading on Crazy Cowboy's website it seems like a good thing.. any feedback on before or after from people that installed it??
I installed this kit, along with deadener, in my C5 and thought the kit was worth it. Now, I can't tell how much difference it made from a sound perspective, Dynamat went in at the same time, but from a heat pespective it worked well. Since the exhaust runs down the middle of the car it would get pretty warm and heat up the inside cabin temp. The kit has reduced the heat coming into the cabin so looking at it in that way alone it was worth it. If you get the precut kit you will do alot of fitting and trimming, it is more like a starting point to get you started not a perfect fit.
I was happy with the cowboy kit, certainly cut heat down, and some sound as well. Mine went down on top of the edead liquid deadener. If I had it to do all over again I would try and split a cowboy's kit with someone for the tunnel heat reduction and couple it with ensolite from raamaudio for sound deadening purposes everywhere else.
Good product and coupled with some mat should work very well .. just be careful at certain mounting locations that your interior will go back together correctly, you don't want to do all of that work and then be too thick under the carpet to snap back together
