My Clarion CD Changer in my '90 seems to like to play standard CD's or Sony Green Colored CD-R's. Anything else...it takes forever to read it,and or it'll ignore it.
This problem has been around a while. Also,ONLY with the CD Changer on, the right side speakers are off .Sometimes the CD will cut out a bit. ONLY with the Changer on(It happens with burned or reg CD's)tape player and head unit are fine.I wasn't sure if I should address it seeing I am selling the car..but I guess I am going to fix it seeing I probably have another month before the snow hits and it goes night night.
The system is all Clarion. ARX 7370 Head unit,Changer, Clarion Speakers, Small Amp. Not a bad little system.
Any ideas if it needs a professional cleaning(I tried a CD Cleaning disc) Suggestions?????
Thanks....... I remember a nice dood....triple black? answering my question last time...maybe you could offer your .02?
That could also be the fault of the recorder. *if* the laser is slightly off calibration, then it may not work in all units. I found this the case with my old Hp CR writer. The newer model seems to work in everything, but also the color reflectivity and lasar beam dampening plays a role too.
I'm hoping it can be repaired.. I'm having it pulled and examined soon. I'm thinking the laser might need cleaning or replacement. The car was painted last year...and a LOT of body dust got in the back. Maybe thats it. I can't stand it anymore though! Time to take action.
