For anyone with the Pioneer Avic Z2: I had pretty much settled on the Avic-Z2 for the aftermarket option in the new ride (TPW 9/3). I've been spending a lot of time on the AVIC411 website, and there seems to be a lot of issues with this unit when it comes to heat. Just wondering if anyone here has encountered this issue. Seems that when the unit gets hot (car parked in the sun), it freezes on boot-up.
Side note....how long does the unit take to boot-up during "normal" conditions? I've heard it can take a while.
Forums are great! But, along with all the good stuff, you also hear a lot of bad....just don't want to make a large investment in something that will have me frustrated and regretting!

I just installed mine and have only had it for a few days. But it's been well over 100 here in the afternoon, car parked in sun all day. (Black car) I have had no issues what so ever.

Normally I'd say it takes around 20-30 seconds. But the audio stuff (FM, AM, CD, etc) becomes available in like 10-15.
You'll want to read the post about my install issues. It will help you avoid the same problems I had.
