Default Stupid question

This may seem way too basic, but...Im istaling myew HU and noticed the harness I got for it has a ground, 12v, and acc That go into the stock harness. I assumed that I would have to find these somewhere else. Am I correct in assuming that I can just use the harness then, and not tap into the fuse block or something? It also has an illumination and dimmer wires. Why is everyone tapping into the cream wire in the HVAC if there is one for it in the harness? Please help, my head hurts!

The stock head uses the data bus for instructions/commands such as turn on. Not like the old days with 12v ign and 12v constant. BTW there is a 12v acc in the passenger footwell. Look for the wires that are just taped on the end and don't connect to anything. The orange one is the one you need.

Thats the confirmation I was looking for, Thanks! Makes you wander why its there, to confuse me im sure. Anyway, Ill be running the acc from an accessory valet anyway so not too worried about that one.

So the 12v constant and the ground in the harness are good?

Bump for a saturday.

12v constant and ground from the harness OK to use? Or should I connect them somewhere else? Where would you ground the HU? 12v from the fuse block supply?
