Default Sirius-GM1 unit question

To anyone that has this does it have RCA jacks red/white?

Reason i ask there is another thread about connecting a IPOD to the XM unit in the wheelwell requiring splicing, i want to switch to Sirius using the SIR-GM1 not the fac XM unit if the SIR has the RCA jacks it is a much nicer connection, if not i wonder if the splicing would be the same on the SIR as it is on the XM. WHEW

It does not have RCA jacks, but if you're replacing an existing XM tuner box with the SIR-GM1 then it doesn't matter. The Sirius box has a wire harness that you just plug the factory XM connector into and then plug that harness into the SIR-GM1. Very easy install.

OK i got that part, but i guess i still have to tap into the harness for the ipod connection like others are doing with the XM box?
I was hoping the Sirius box had the RCA type so i didn't have to mess with the original fac XM harness.

Just saw your other thread, didn't know the iPod was the primary concern. The same wires will exist in the harness that comes with the SIR-GM1. If you're worried about being able to un-install cleanly then you could just tap into those wires instead. If that's the only reason that you're considering getting the SIR-GM1 then it's a waste of cash.

You're not going to be able to do this with Scotch taps ONLY and use both the iPod and Sirius. You will need to actually clip the leads and setup some sort of switch to choose one or the other. I'm sure somebody has done this, but I haven't so I don't know what to recommend you use.
