Jeff, Greg and I got a pdx amp that was bad out of the box. The power terminals were loose. You would touch the terminals and power would go on and off. From what I have heard, ours was the only problem, but enough to make me leary of the pdx amps. I know that many have had great luck with em. don't let our bad experience deter you, but just that you are aware.
They make nice power and the small footprint is a great plus
Dave, I know about the PDX you and Greg had.. but that could happen with ANY amp..
I guess what I want to know is what amps are good and what to stay away from. That said I know in some cases it is personal opinion (like ed) some will say to stay away from eD, but in my personal experience with their amps I have had no issues.
so I am just trying to deter what will work well in my application without going over board or have too much Bling.. LOL
the amps probably will not be hidden very well so the more subtle it is the better
Yea I know it could happen to any amp. I think the pdx amps put out real nice clean power especially for their size. They also produce little heat from what I've been hearing.

Jeff,
This is a Dragster 4channel 1200 watt amp. Model DH1804. It's a well known brand in "sound-off" competitions. Very well made. I wouldn't put it in the same category as Xtant, but it compares well with PPI, Alpine, and others. MSRP on this amp is about $1200, lowest on sale price was $599 (Just a bit over cost). I'm looking to get $300 for it.
I don't know anything about the PCX series amps, but i've got the PPI 1000.4 and I'm real happy with it. Plenty of clean power.
Lookin at pictures of the amp. I think some one here is using them. He painted them yellow. He was at our meet. Wayne I think is his name. I can't think of it right now, but I wanna say Wayne(wiz1500)
PPI is now owned by Directed Electronics (think... same company that makes Sirius' garbage hardware). PPI joined MB Quart in living off of but not up to a reputation made 15 years ago.

yeah I knew they were sold off (like everyone else) but was curious when they were last good..
I also have my eye on a PH15 and PQ20 a/d/s.. those would be perfect too
pcx are excellent amps so is the california addition, I own a pcx2200
powering two orion 10''
you cant go wrong with older year amps like ppi orion exc. People dont want to pay high dollar for equimpent anymore thats why most companies went out of buieness or got bought out.
Also my spelling sucks.
