I have a newly installed set of Infinity 6010cs. They are in the front doors. I noticed that the right side on some music, the sound is all distorted.
I have the tweeters set on the lower setting (-1db) on the crossover. I also had the Amp set to high pass on 80mhz. Which gave the system to much bass. Now I have it closer to 120mhz it sounds a little better but not awesome.
Is the speaker gone? It does not do it on all songs, just mostly hard rock, which I like. So that is what I have on my iPod.

Is this your first time using the ipod in the car? If so, you may want to turn of the EQ on the ipod. I had mine on and had similar sound until I turned off the EQ setting. Then again it could be anything from a bad channel on the amp or just exactly as you say - a blown speaker.
Im shocked u blew the tweet, when I used to run the refernece components I beat the hell out of them and way over powered and never an issue with the tweets

It is not crackling or such, it just sounds distorted. I am going to fool around when the amp setting a little more and see.
turn your fader and balance towards the speaker in question. The tweeter should be able to play cleanly through all the frequencies.
Tweeter distortion can somtimes occur with a poor connection or a loose mount. This happend in my silverado, the tweeter in the door broke off the plastic mount and fell into the door resulting in horrible sound.
