Component/Seperates Install?
Anyone install components with the mids down in the speaker compartment and the tweeter on the dash or on the top of the door panel? The sound stage is so bad when a leg or foot is covering the speaker grill down below. This would be on a C4 convertible. Thanks! BTW I did a search on this and came up with nada.

I've got my pros down low. The tweet and the mid. Bringing the tweet up should solve alot of the problem. I am planning on doing this to mine shortly. Where do you have your tweet positioned? Up, facing the driver, facing the center, facing the windshield? How did you mount your mid? Is it in a new box or in the stock box? I'll try to take some pictures when I can. Also, what do you have in the rear? I get some of my mid staging from the rear to compensate for the poor location of the midrange. When I put the top down I need to balance more to the rear to have them fill in the gaps of frequency blocked by my Hockey legs. I'm going to change the angle the mids fire in to have them fire more upward. They currently fire straight across(maybe 10% tilt up) I want more like a 30% and more toward the rear. The tweets I want to mount in the doors up high or near the A piller. I'm going to test the spots I think they will work before I do any cutting.

I'm in the middle of doing mine now. I'm building custom enclosures for the mids. I haven't figured out where to put the tweeters yet :)
