Default C6 AVIC install question

I'm getting ready to install an AVIC d3 in my 05 c6 and was hoping to just utilize the stock bose speakers/amps at this time until I have the funds to do new speakers/sub/amps. So my question is, if I purchase the GHAM24B and the GMAHCM adapters, will this be a plug and play install?

About as plug & play as it gets, yes. You will need a dash trim kit as well - the Metra 95-3304 I believe is the one most folks use.

Just in case... you only need the GHAM24B/GMAHCM if you have Onstar. If you do not have Onstar than the GMCO is all you need.

Actually I do have Onstar but I don't use it at all. Are you saying I can use the GMCO instead of both adapters if I don't want to retain Onstar? Also, I'm assuming either setup has outputs that go to the bose speakers? I'm hoping that way I can simply hook it up now,but run my RCA cables so that I can upgrade to aftermarket amps/speakers at a later date.

Correct, the only differentiation between modules on the C6 is Onstar, not Bose. So if you don't care about Onstar, just use the GMCO, it will get you chimes and handle the Bose.
