Positive stock speakers upgrade experience....
I got the Infinity 3022 2way 3.5's for the door twiddlers and 5022 5.25's for the frc rear spots. Thanks to internet shopping, these came in at under $90 total.
I dropped them in last night and am actually pretty impressed how well they do playing off the stock bose headunit. The twiddler seems to be crossed over much too high for these drivers, but that's okay.

Overall, the system sounds much nicer now, and I'm getting some nice overtones and articulation that weren't there before. These are also considerably more efficient and slightly less than 4ohms in impedance, so they "crank" well under factory power.
What's really interesting is that the existing "subs" now seem to be hitting much harder. (scratches head) Might have something to do with that lower impedance....
Anyways, just throwing this out there in case anyone was thinking about doing this. I wish I'd done this when I got first got the car instead of pushing it off for years knowing I'd be replacing the entire system.
