On my 2005 C6, I changed the stock Bose with an aftermarket system, but had problems with the bass cutting out at loud volume. I took it back to the installer, and he said that it was from sound cancellation. He thought that I should go to a smaller sub or some other box configuration.
I called JL Audio tech support today, and they said that the only time they heard of such a thing was when the microphone that is in the car was not disconnected after changing speakers/system.
What is this microphone, and have you ever heard of such a problem?
Alpine C/D player
JL 300/2 amp
MB Quarts components
JL 500/1 amp
JL W6v2 10" sub
I had a custom box built for my 10" W6 sub (fiberglass/wood and sealed)
Center channel and rear speakers were disconnected.
Actually, I sold that car and now have a 2008 Z06 that I want to put the system into. I was just concerned that I would have the same problem unless I switched boxes and or subs. After talking to JL Audio and a local shop, I think that my old installer did not disconnect the Bose amp(s).
I think I am gong to have the system installed and use the old sub/box, BUT USE A DIFFERENT INSTALLER THIS TIME .

Yeah, that issue (assuming no defective equipment) was an install related issue.
read the c6 faq it talks about how to tap the low level outputs of the radio without fancy unnecessary equipment and your installer may not know how to do this
