I have a flip up AVIC n-1 right now and I'm thinking of swaping it out for a double din. I'd like to have it bypassed so that my passenger, which is usualy one of my three sons, can watch their movie on long drives. How's the viewing angle. I know the flip up, single din sits a little higher and is more so at eye level. Does anyone think that the double din sit's too low, or is it fine?

Since you'll have to modify the bezel you can adjust the viewing angle to suit. As for the screen height I don't know, but I don't see the popup being beat in that catagory.
I have the Kenwood ddx6019 and the screen is not a problem to view a movie on while driving. I also have the pac prt-7 adapter which Pentavolvo wired for me when doing the install that tells the head unit you are parked and this allows you to watch moves and adjust the NAV while driving. I also think it looks alot nicer and cleaner than a flip out model, but not trying to offend anyone who has the flip out

Dennis,
Do you recall were you got the pac prt-7 adapter. I'll need to get one for my install.
flip out is more visible to the police and since what you're doing (even if you're not watching it yourself) is illegal, i'd go for installing it as low as possible
