It took me about 6 hours start to finish. Used MDF, Power Grab, Duro spray adhesive, 1 1/4 screws, some tight pile carpet (super thin), and just a couple staples here and there. Cost less than 30 bucks to make the thing. Petty cool.
Does the cargo cover fit over it nicely? Do you happen to have the measurements and angles you had to cut?
I have been trying to get a box built for a while, but the guy doing my wood work (I have no tools for woodworking) doesnt work with me anymore and it makes trial and error tough.
If you are interested in a box that eliminates the cargo cover for a 1/2 MDF cover, I did one on AutoCAD and saved it as a PDF.
I find it easy to work with, and you can mount the driver to the 3/4" MDF while the 1/2 MDF provides a flush look. Although the design does not show it, I rounded off the edges and made it look like the original cover.
Looking back on the design, you might be better off using 1/4" MDF for the top cover panel if you are using a nice carpet kit (Loyds?) in the back. There is a noticeable "lift" where the top panel sits. Sorry I don't have a picture to post that shows what I am talking about.
That is the instructions we started with.. but we then learned that was not for a stealth box. We tried just adjusting the measurements, but so far we have had limited luck (then he moved to another project at work and we dont see each other to work on it).
