I need some advice from you audio gurus. I installed a subwoofer in the storage compartment of my 76. The inside of the compartment is lined with dynamat type stuff.
The subwoofer is "recommended" to be in a sealed enclosure. I was thinking about building a box type structure within the storage compartment, and putting in some acoustic foam. Is this a good idea or is it worth the effort? I am getting pretty fair bass, but I think I should be getting more. The storage area is anything but a sealed enclosure at this point.
You definitely need to get it in a sealed enclosure. To operate properly there needs to be back-pressure. So build a box you can fit in there and also make sure you built it to the interior volume recommended for the driver as well.
