Default AVIC Z2 in C6

Gearing up to install a Z2 with bluetooth and ipod adapter in my 07 2lt. No blose or onstar.

Based on past posts I have gathered a lot of good info. Many thanks to nomad, shangreers, flarside, scf, chemten, naschultz and komoman.

Just want to confirm a few thinks before I get started.

Do I just need the metra dash kit (95-3304), periperhal GMCO and an antenna adaptor?

I will paint kit to match a/c controls.

VSS wire should be green/white wire from BCM behind front passenger wheel? Reverse wire light green in the same spot?

Illumination will tie into hazards or grey wire on traction control?

Z2 power anttena wire to blue wire in GMCO harness.

For the parking brake, should a guy just ground this now if I intend to bypass?

GPS antenna can be mounted on top of left center a/c vent.

To use the factory amp with the GMCO harness, do I have to cut any RCA's off or just plug from Z2 to RCA's?

Should I include ground loop isolators to avoid pop when system powers down? If so, where is best?

Or should I just bypass the factory amp and run Z2 rear outputs to subs (in sub mode) and run tweeters and rears in parrell?

I welcome any guidance or advice you can provide.

Yup, those are the parts you'll need.

Don't worry about the VSS wire, more trouble than it's worth at this point. GPS are plenty accurate without 'em. IIRC the reverse wire is under the dash, but there should be a thread talking about it, search the archives.

Right, but the TC wire is alot easier to get to.

Yes to all of the above.

Just plug the RCA's (assuming they're male?) directly into the head, though if you get the popping you'll need to put the isolators between the head & the GMCO. I got mine @ Radio Shack, but they are male on both ends. So you may have to grab some RCA F-F barrel connectors to hook them to the GMCO.

Don't bypass the factory amp, you just open yourself to a world of problems unless you're replacing everything else.

The reverse wire can be found at the BCM in the passenger side footwell next to the fuse box and it is light green.

Good luck on your endeavor.

I didn't connect the vss for my D3 install and the GPS is as accurate as my Garmin c550, if not more - it shows me rounding curves in the road.

Unless you intend to install a backup camera, the reverse wire is not needed either.

Good luck!

The GPS/Navigation will work properly without the VSS wire but there are a couple of other options in the Vehicle Dynamics section of the AVIC that will not work without it.

Default Metro gmos-04 module

Guys,
Thanks for the help so far.

Having trouble finding a periperhal gmco module.

Has anyone used the Metra GMOS-04? If so did you hook up the SPDT relay as called for the instructions specific for the corvette to the blue/white wire between the 16 way and 24 way connectors?

If so, where did you get the relay?

If not, did it still work?
