I am relatively "green" with audio equipment and need some help. I want to improve the sound quality in my 06' Z06 and have no clue what to start with. I know I want a Sub with a enclosure that doesn't take up much room. I like the Nav setup in the car and want to keep the headunit as well.
So, with all that said, what are the Top 3 Sound System Upgrades for the C6 Nav setup.
Improving the sound in a C6(stereos are the same in Z06) without starting over is problematic at best. I've typed "my take on speaker swapping" so many times I made it a permanent post on my web site, so start here to give you an idea of what I think:
Everyone is going to have a different recommendation for the front components. There are some very good ones out there. I always recommend finding an audio shop where you can listen to them. Granted the sound stage in the demo room will be different than the C6.
I wanted a stealth look as well so I went with the Alpine PDX 4.150 amp and installed in the rear cubby. These amps are small in size and I believe they rely on passive cooling (no fans). I've never had a heat issue with the cubby doors closed. i also pushing a 12 inch sub with this amp so I'm really putting it to work.
