Default C5 Amp install question...

Hi All,

First off, thanks to everyone who responded to my tweeter installation thread. I bought a set of Infinitys that I'm going to install today. Since I'm already going to have the car apart, I decided to pull an amp and sub out of my beater car to put in the vette. I'm going to use an Orion 225 HCCA to power a JL 8 Microsub until I can get a Stealthbox. I've read through all the threads about installing an amp and it looks very easy. One thing I can't quite figure out though, is when I tap into the wires at the rear of the HU for the line level outputs, do I need to leave the connector hooked up to the factory harness and just run the rca cable in parallel or do I actually cut the wires and just use the rca cable at that point? I guess I don't really understand the conenction between the HU and the bose processor.

Any help will be much appreciated!

Do not cut any wires. You are only putting a tap on the wires you want to connect to. Just remove a small section of insulation from the wire you want to tap. It would be best to solder the connection if possible.

99HT,

That's what I thought, but I wanted to make sure. So far, the results are sounding very good. The tweeters are installed and working great. The sound difference is amazing! I can't wait to get my sub fired up to see what that does for me!!

Thanks!
