Default C5 HU/Bose replacement

With the advice of a few members from previous threads and PMs, I have gotten so much information. I just wanted to make sure everything I'm going to will enable me to use my stereo and if I'm missing anything I can go ahead and order it. Nothing sucks more than taking your car apart and learning you have to wait 5 days for a $3 adapter you ended up needing. Here's my plan:

Install new Head Unit:

From my previous car, I had purchased a Kenwood EZ700SR. I purchased this because it was the only HU that did not need a seperate sirius amp to receive satellite radio , it has the tuner built into the HU. From crutchfield I ordered the following:
-Wire Harness
-Antenna Adapter
-HU mount plate

Install new speakers and replace bose on the door:

I won an auction on ebay for this piece:

I also am about to purchase these Kicker 6.5's from crutchfield:

That's my basic setup for now. Is there anything else I will need to make this setup work? Someone had recommended running new speaker wire to the 6.5 speakers, but I was not sure if this was necessary or not?

I would suggest you reread the audio faq sticky a few times. I practically memorized it over the last few days. I just finished replacing my Blose system last night. I should be able to help if you have any ? just pm me.

In order to use your door speakers you will need new speaker wires unless you want to go through a lot of work. The Blose system has built in amps and uses a digital signal as opposed to analog. None of this matters since you are replacing the door speakers. Plain and simple, run new wires to avoid any hassle or questions or issues.

Since I already had my dash and doors off, I found it extremely easy to run new wire. I just used basic 16g paired speaker wire and ran it through the door to the back of the radio. I hooked it straight up to the wires coming off the HU and then just taped off the wires coming from the aftermarket wiring harness.

The only real tough part was finding the 3" x 3" panel to where the wires came out of the tubing from the door. It is pretty easy to find if you know what to look for. It will be on the inside of the car pretty much in line with the black tube from the door to the frame. It has a rubber seal around it, so may need some prying, but once you get it off you should be able to stick a hand up there and grab your speaker wire that you just fed through the door.

The extra two little harness adapters from the Blose system are not even used. They are just tucked behind my new HU. The rear speakers sound acceptable, plus I have a 10w7 back there.

It's pretty easy once you have a little advice. Run new wires to the doors and hook them straing to the HU harness, and just tape off the aftermarket GM harness you had to buy.

Anything else, just let me know. Hope I helped a little bit.
