Help with PAC OEM-1
I am installing a Pioneer Avic D3 and I want to keep my bose speakers in my 2002 Corvette Convertible. I have the Pac Oem-1 for the corvette.
I know I have to connect the Avic d3 pigtail to the pigtail of the Pac, right?
The PAC adapter has two parts, (one on each side of it) Both ends have white plastic connectors,
1- 11 pin
1- 4 pin
1. These both plug in the two factory connectors that use to plug in the factory radio?
Then with the 11 pin connector, branches off with a 18 wire pigtail
2. Does this pigtail connect to my pioneer's pig tail?
Pioneers pigtail has the following:
purple - right rear positive
purple w/ black - right rear negative
green - right rear negative
green w/ black - left rear positive
gray - right front positive
gray w/ black - right front negative
white - left front positive
white w/ black - left front negative
ILL - Connect to the Illumnation wire (Cream Colored on the HVAC Plug)
ACC - Where?
+battery - Where?
Antenna Control - Where?
Reverse Gear Signal Input - Connect to reverse lights, but where??
Car Speed Signal Input - Connect to either PCM on passenger side or under the Gauge Cluster. Which is easier and faster?
Braking Brake - Connect to parking brake wire under console
Black Ground - Connect to chassis ground
pac adapter
white w/ blk - Matches (-) Left Front
gray w/ blk - Matches (-) Right Front
green w/ blk - Matches (-) Left Rear
purple w/ blk - Matches (-) Right Rear
black - Ground
blue - Matches Power Antenna
orange - Illumination/Dimmer ***Not Used
blue w/ white - AMP Trigger ***Not Used
red - Ignition/Switched (can I connect to this? Instead of tapping into the brown wire under the ignition...)
yellow - Battery
purple - (+) Right rear high level
purple w/ red - (+) Right rear low level ***Not Used***
green - (+) Left rear high level
green w/ red - (+) Left rear low level ***Not Used***
gray - (+) Right front High level
gray w/ red - (+) Right front low level ***Not Used***
white - (+) Left front high level
white w/ red - (+) Left front low level ***Not Used***
3. What wires used? and What wires not used? On the PAC Adapter. Am I right?
4. And the longer lose red wire connects to switched igintion power?
I did look in the FAQ and didn't see anything about the PAC...
If anyother tips for my install that would be great.
Thanks in advance,
Justin

There is a few of us in this boat... I just opened up all my boxes and feel I may be in over my head on this one.
I also have the AVIC-D3, OEM-1 Adapter for the bose speakers, and no clue.

yeah the answer is the pacaoem1 isnt the right adater, the oem1 is for an aftermarket amp with stock deck
to keep stock amp/speakers you need the soundgate adapter

Yes, the Pac adapter works with an aftermarket deck with stock speakers.
The Following wires used and not used:
pac adapter
white w/ blk - Matches (-) Left Front
gray w/ blk - Matches (-) Right Front
green w/ blk - Matches (-) Left Rear
purple w/ blk - Matches (-) Right Rear
black - Ground
blue - Matches Power Antenna and it does work with my vert antenna
orange - Illumination/Dimmer ***Not Used *** Use the wire-A.C. Control
blue w/ white - AMP Trigger ***Not Used becuase its when adding amp to stock system,,, Not needed
red - Ignition/Switched - Connect to a remote turn on, Use a fuse that turns on when ACC on
yellow - Battery
purple - (+) Right rear high level
purple w/ red - (+) Right rear low level ***Not Used***
green - (+) Left rear high level
green w/ red - (+) Left rear low level ***Not Used***
gray - (+) Right front High level
gray w/ red - (+) Right front low level ***Not Used***
white - (+) Left front high level
white w/ red - (+) Left front low level ***Not Used***
Its simple when you actually look at the wires coming from the adapter. Look at the pigtail.... not all wires continue to the actual pac adapter. Like look at the white w/ red wire - it ends at the pig tail and does not continue.
Its easy, just use good connections for all the wires and then zip tie them up.

check your owners manual for the radio it might have 2 of them a power antenna and an amp turn on. you want to use the amp turn on if there are both choices they are blue or blue with white stripe
take this amp turn on wire and run it to the blue wire off the pac adapater should be called amp turn on or power antenna etc

Finally got everything wired up in my Z2 last night and fired her up. Couldn't believe it, everything is up and running and seams to be wired ok.
I would like to thank everyone for their help and patience with me. Brian (C5-KIDD) was very helpful with my questions on the PAC hookup and great to deal with on the purchase of everything.
I have to get everything back in and I have several pics that will be comming. Thanks again, great form for all of us. Mark
