I have (had) 241 songs on my i-pod. Today, I downloaded an Eagles CD I received for Xmas. I downloaded it to a blank I-tunes page on my laptop, no problems. When I loaded it onto my i-pod, it has evidentally erased all 241 original songs, and replaced them all with the new album. How'd that happed????
It sounds like you had the IPOD synced with another computer and when you connected it to the new computer it asked you if you wanted to associate the IPOD with the new computer to which you erroneously answered yes. [You can only (without additional software that might exist) associate an IPOD with one computer at a time.]
You will need to import the new CD into the original computers itunes (with the 200+ songs) and then re-sync.
I have 3700+ on my Ipod. For that reason, I keep my music library backed up on 2 seperate external hard drives.
Your Ipod just re-synced itself to your music library.
You have to put all your music in the same library and make seperate playlists.
You should still have the original 241 on your hard drive. Also check your settings to make sure that songs are auto added to your library when you rip them.
