Default Quick Amp question

I haven't kept up with the car audio scene in a long long time... with that said, I have an older Xtant 604X amp. Is the older one similar to the new x604? How does it compare to the new amps today?

I bought a nearly 10 year old Xtant from VinceC5 and it sounds GREAT in my vert. If you have it already, then you'd be crazy not to use it. They're way under-rated - the 4x75 rating is more like 4x150 in reality - and they sound fantastic.

BTW, if there's anything up with that amp, the have a $150 flat diagnostic & repair charge. You send it down to them (call & get an RA# first) and then send it back ready to go.

My pair of pennies.

Excellent. If i remember correctly, I bought mine in 03. Just wanted to know how they hold up against new technology. The only thing negative about this amp is that it's HUGE!

Well there's really no trade-offs with that for a class A/B amp. The newer class D amps are much smaller and sound much better than the earlier class D's did, but having moved from an Alpine PDX-4.150 (class D) to the Xtant x604 in my vert the difference in sound was night & day. If you want good sound, give up the space.
