I have custom docked an Ipod in my center console using the Apple A/V cables. I have an Alpine head unit with all the best Alpine equipment. I went to Itunes and purchased all my videos from Itunes paying $1.99 a pop. The thing I noticed is the volume is sometimes different from video to video. I have read other post on here where it was advised to change some setting on the Ipod. Any help guys on what I can do to get the best sound quality possible and help with the volume change? Thanks for the help on here.

anything that equates volume typically harms sound quality. Ipod has something called "sound check" which doesnt hurt sq too bad.
I'm not sure if it works for videos, but for music, there is a setting so that you make all the volume of the songs the same. I did it with my Ipod .It is on the menu on ITunes.I'm not sure exactly where it is, but if you look through the different sections, I'm sure you'll find it there.
That's called 'normalization' and is not generally a good thing to do if you care how it sounds.
What's worse than the possibility of affecting the quality is that it won't necessarily help. If it really bothers you, the best thing to do is to determine which songs are the biggest offenders and manually adjust the volume on them individually a bit. You can do this from the info window on each tune.
Thanks everyone for your help. I think it is kind of ridiculous you pay $1.99 a video on the volume varies like it does. You would think a company like Apple would have this fixed.

It's not Apple's issue. It's just the way music works. The CD's you use have the same issues from CD to CD. The record labels of course engineer all the songs on any individual CD to be the same, that's what mastering is, but they have no control over what levels and dynamics are recorded on other projects, let alone other labels. So it won't likely ever be fixed by anyone until someone sets a standard for the amount of dynamic range is allowed in a recording. And that wouldn't go over too well for some kinds of music that require large dynamic range as opposed to rock/pop that requires very little.
