C5 - new head unit?
I have a Jensen headunit/motorized flip out, I want to install it in my 1998. I searched the forums.. My question is - Is there any special wires, adapters, plugs or what not to bi-pass factory bose, or is it like any other car or truck, just a harness? Thanks for the input.

If you're simply replacing the head unit, you will need a Bose Adapter Wiring Harness to match your head unit

C5KIDD has everything you need. $65.99 on his website. I just ordered a bunch of stuff from him last week.

The 2 parts that you need are both made by Peripheral Electronics. Look for the SVEN2 interface and the SVHGM4 harness adapter.
I have installed a new HU today and both of the Peripheral parts worked fine. Do some searches on here and you'll find more satisfied customers.

It seems as most people are using the soundgate harness instead. Is the Peripheral one not as good?

I've read that it isn't as "plug and play" as the soundgate and you said you had it installed. So is it worth the money savings to buy the Peripheral and self install to someone who just has general stereo knowledge?
