Hey guys,

I was looking at some of zaph's designs and a lot of his 'better' designs aren't shielded. I know crt's are sensitive to magnets but are plasmas?

Darned good question, and unfortunately it looks like the answer is yes.

The only display types that are affected by the magnetic field are CRTs (Tube) and Plasmas. DLP, LCoS, SXRD, and LCD should have no problems with speakers that are not shielded.

You can buy the appropriate bucking magnets to address a non-shielded driver.

FWIW Scott, I built the Seas all-metal system from his site, then modded it somewhat to suit my own needs and taste. If you like, I can post my findings and overall experience with them. It's all good.

I actually go back on a regular basis and read and re-read and..... You'd think after all these years hanging out with spkrboy there some of this crap would penetrate my brain, but I guess you really can't fix stupid.

phew, that makes me feel better. i constantly go on that site and do the same. i get very humble with guys like that and spkrboy around learn a lot though.
