Default I found single DIN DVD/NAV HUs!!

I did some soul searching for a single DIN touch screen DVD player with or without NAV and found these two brands. There is a local shop who sells the Farenheit brand. These units are also reasonably priced, but I can't find any user feedback about them (it seems they are fairly new) So, for those of us who feel sqeemish about cutting the bezel and such, these might be for you. I am getting the 530-TID installed tomorrow with the BOSE aftermarket adapter so we'll see how it goes. I was told everything should fit and the bigger face on the 530 should cover the extra 0.5din space that the bose unit leaves.

http://www.beachaudio.com/Farenheit/...-p-113430.html

http://www.farenheitusa.com/PDF/2007%20Farenheit.pdf

http://www.poweracoustik.com/pa2006/...IDEO_IDMDA.htm (scroll down a bit)

I hope this helps some others who are on the fence about the 2-DIN mod.

p.s. oh, and if there are any forum vendors who carry these products please let us know

you should ask if they can flush mount it so it doesn't stick out at all. that would be pretty slick and it sounds like the 1.5 din opening will accommodate it

Very interesting looking unit. Please post pics after the install and let us know what you think of the unit and how it performs.

A buddy of mine installed 6 farenheit lcd monitors in his escalade (used for car audio shows) and they were some of the best looking LCD's I've seen in cars. Not sure about the head units but like I said the LCD's were great!

It's an adapter to fit an aftermarket HU, but keep the rest of the system stock.

Oh OK, getting an education here on C5's! I would also like to put a single din nav unit, didn't know I needed that adaptor though, thanks.

Well it's been a couple of days, is it installed? Thoughts on the units performance?

The HU on a stock single DIN faceplate is ok, but the face of the screen would sit a slight bit over the console bar which separates the HU and the AC unit. So, not installed yet.

I'm talking with Mark at HUmount to get a custom faceplate made to allow the DIN to be higher than the common ones. His faceplate with the corvette wording is already situated higher than the normal faceplates so that might actually work, we'll see as I will call him on Monday.

How'd the install go? This is a pretty nice setup. Can it be done?
