i POD for a MB?

i just did one of them for one of my customers (actually sirius, but I still had to remove the radio)
It took me all of 10 minutes to get the radio out.
this is from memory, so just take your time.
remove the trim around the shifter ****
remove the wood grain piece around the shifter (the bottom piece)
take out the ash tray, and remove the screws (i believe they are T-15 or T-20)
pull out the HVAC controls
there should then be 2 more screws near the hazard switch, remobe them
open cup holder, and take out the 2 screws
that should clear the dash leaving you with only the radio, and 4 screws.
connect to the back of the radio, and run the cable into the glove box, or where the wife wants it.
put back in reverse
good luck

It plugs into 12V power and inline on the antenna to the radio (for a MB you'll like need Euro antenna adapters in & out, easily had). You set it to a frequency in your area like 88.7 or something, then tune your radio to that frequency. By being plugged inline on the antenna wire you are eliminating most of the radio frequencies battles you fight with the wireless versions.
I don't know anything about the MB cars, but if they are like my former '04 Saab using the MOST system then it may very well be your only option. Those radios are a nightmare to deal with.

What , do I do to hook up through the AUX.??? sorry for so many questions. Hell I may just break down and get the $350 kit and do the install myself, I found a write up on it, at least then it would be integrated through the Nav system screen , right?

yes u can, i do it all the time. have the dealership ACTIVATE the aux programing, the aux jack to plug in your mp3 player should be in the glove box. Look carefully, use a flashlight, it will either be on the sides or top of the glove box from the inside, it looks like a black button with a hole in the middle of it. It will take a mini plug.

First see if you can find aux jack and try it out, sometimes this feature is already activated by the dealership.
Completely read your cars owners manual audio section, it might be described there also.
