Asking this question as to hopefully not waste money. I have a C3 corvette that I will be replacing the carpet this spring I will be adding heat shielding. I was also thinking about sound deadener but for this car I just plan on driving it in the summertime and the tops will probably be off 99% of the time. In this situation would the deadener be any great benefit versus the cost of dynomat ?
Dynamat is a type of deadener. Even the heat shielding you are planning on adding has some deadening properties. But, basically the more mass (weight) you add, the more deadening you will accomplish.
I would say, you would not accomplish much adding any of the Dynamat type products to anywhere but the doors. And, that is if you have amplified aftermarket speakers. If not, it might add a little depth to your sound quality.
I would not do it for any reason other than stereo sound improvement. I don't think you will kill any road noise if the tops are off a vast majority of the time.
