Well since we dont know whether you are putting in an FM Modulator, or a direct connect XM unit, or for that matter what model vette, I would suggest you just give it power and hook it up to the car
Assumptions: your profile is correct and you still have a C5, you're going to use the FM transmitter feature on a stock radio.
Check out my "RAP for an amp WITH the stock HU still installed:" spiel at post #9 of the C5 FAQ thread to see how to hard wire the car kit so it only (and always) comes on when the radio is on. You wouldn't need a relay, that thing doesn't pull much power.
Or you could just use the accessory plugs in the footwell to power it and let it turn off when you kill the ignition, but then you'd get static on the radio until you open a door.
Thanks guys...You are correct I should have been more specific...I actually gonna have pentavolvo do the install. He did the stereo upgrade and I might as well have a pro do it.
