I've viewed many installs on these pages and one thing I've noticed is that no one has appeared to have drilled through the "hump" to get the wires cleanly to the trunk. Why? Is it structural? My thought was to drill and grommet so as to pull all associated wiring neatly and cleanly to the amp rack.
I've included a pic of exactly what I'm talking about.
I don't think you need to drill the hole. You could route the wires under the carpet, use some metal tape to keep them solid.
Another option is to route the wires behind the rear speaker, through the metal frame. The same path as the cable for the manual door release from the hatch.
Most people run the wires up the wall behind the seats under the plastic along the rear edge of the door opening. Once you get up to the speakers you can either keep going straight back (under the plastic and even in the OEM clips that hold the stock wiring) or just make a 90* turn to your amp if you have it mounted directly behind the hump you want to drill through. That's about as neat as it gets.
