I just installed a Clarion DUZ385SAT head unit in my 2007 1LT C6. I used the gmco for the interface. I am getting a loud pop sound upon power up and down. I understand others have had that with other head units. In addition, I hear the same loud pop, when using my IPOD connected directly to the head unit. The pop only occurs when the song changes. Sometimes a song can change with no pop. As far as I can tell, the pop happens when there is a longer pause between songs.
I will likely replace the stock amp soon, so that should get rid of the pop. Any other thoughts on how to handle it before I replace the factory amp?

The only thing I can remember which has definitely worked with the start/shut off pop is putting a ground loop isolator between the head & the amp connections. However since you're going to switch to an amp it may make more sense to live with it until you make the change rather than drop $30 at Radio Shack.
For the iPod, do you have it plugged into the cig lighter? If so, try running it on it's battery, you might find that the pop doesn't happen when that's the case. Also, if you're using the headphone output of the iPod you should turn the volume down to about no more than half on the iPod itself. The higher the volume on the iPod, the more noise you're putting into the signal. If you do have it connected via the headphone jack and the Clarion offers an iPod interface that uses the dock connector on the bottom of the iPod I'd strongly recommend using that instead.
Very strange. Double-check your ground connection on the Clarion. If you made your own ground you might be better off tying it into the factory ground wire in the harness, at least until you put in an amp, which at that point you'd be better off using a common ground between head & amp.
